Woodie

August 29, 2020 by Lukasz Kumanowski

It was a fine afternoon - good enough reason to jump into Glypto and do some rowing. If that was not enough I thought I’ll row to the other side of Väto kanal to buy some screws in Woody.

It became a bit of the fight against the wind and waves. Luckily motor-boaters are gone by now so no risk to be swollen by waves they produce. Silent if not for the wind - water floating along Glypto’s freeboard, clouds running on the sky.

I was pretty sure that Woodie is closed by now but checking opening hours on their web page would be too simple.

I docked to their small bridge, tied the boat and contemplated silence on this side. Of course - they were closed, all went home already.

I smoked my pipe and jumped back into the boat. Pumped the bilge - she still takes water after so long sitting in the mud - and headed home, now with the wind.
